I'm not a collector

Postby motopila » Jul 29th, '10, 12:27

Hi.

Some things about me. :)

I'm from russia.

I'm not chainsaw collector, I'm chainsaw's information collector.

I have been doing this 6 years.
I have a russian language website about chainsaw.

My colelction is mostly virtual but there is also real objects.
For example: "Scientific American" with Muir chainsaw, "Chainsaw A History" :) and manual for first soviet chainsaw.

Once time I make video about allrussian loggers championship - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=prYne_dAz7Q

Currently I'm learning history of russian chainsaws before Druzhba.

I have a little practice to speak English and so I did not always properly put words into phrases.
But I will fix this problem.

Welcome Motopila!

Very nice to get a new Russian member! Your country is not much represented here so it is good that you joined us. I saw in another post that you are learning English, seems you are well on the way! I wish you good luck. And don't hesitate to post, if we don't understand we will ask, and if you don't understand just ask so we can explain.

Motopila, you old Roosky :!: :!: :D
... and here I thought maybe you were in Spain... :?
Please post here URL for your website about URaL's...
Please post also some photos of whatever you have, especially any old photos of Russian logging operations.
Your English is very acceptable. Maybe not like Prince Charlie, but we can understand.
Also there are translation websites which can help us if we need to change cyriliac into American. So, if you need, send me PM in Roosky and I get translations from CIA and KGGB.
We work and play together just like Ole and Sven in the hayfields of summer :!:

Welcome to the forum!

Some more insight into Russian chainsaw history would certainly be interesting. Also, I believe some very much sought-after chainsaws (big Echos and the like) are still being sold in your country 8) .
I can't wait to hear more of the various Russian chainsaw brands ::))
There are trees in Japan!

My information is intended to be shared - I won't sue anyone for copying whatever is worth copying!

There are some very interesting saws made in Russia, some strait copies, but some very fine saws too.

Krona is a saw that must be mentioned in a thread like this.

Do you have any good pic of Kava-4?
Post your saws in the models library. More saws makes better library!
If you need help to post please ask, I will happily help.

It was small lighter then Druzhba, but weaker twice.

I am sorry I don't have anything other than a mention of it in a web search I did.

I belive It was refering to Kama, but I can't say anything...

So I ask.

If it was a missprint and it meant Kama, was there a Kama 4?

Is there no way to get in contact with factory and try to get a better source of info than the web?

It would be more fun for sure to get a contact inside factory.

Now I can't find any information about Kama-4

But I have idea.

Chainsaws Ural, Taiga, Druzhba and Kama produced at one plant "ZiD" in city Perm (Kama-river flows through the city of Perm)

There was Kama-1, Kama-2 and Druzhba-4

Possibli name "Kama-4" is result of mixing names "Kama-..." and "Druzhba-4"

In the 2008 factory "ZiD" stopped producing of petrol chainsaws
